The cat’s out of the bag! Time to mark your calendars! Today, after much suspense on social media, the organisers of The Genealogy Show have finally announced the launch of this exciting new event’s first edition! Read the Press Release here.
The Genealogy Show will take place on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th June 2019 at the NEC in Birmingham, England. The next thirteen months will undoubtedly see a rise in content on the event’s website, Twitter feed and Facebook page, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for news as the date approaches. Speakers and Exhibitors are already able to contact the organisers via the bespoke addresses available on the event’s website.
The event’s conception seems to come at a very opportune moment in time, particularly given the sudden cancellation of Who Do You Think You Are? Live following its 2017 edition – a fact which left British genealogists somewhat orphaned of “their” own genealogy trade-show.
While The Genealogy Show will be taking place in the same venue as the last editions of WDYTYALive (Birmigham’s the NEC), the new event promises to have a more European scope regarding its contents – and as a researcher with experience in Spain and Italy as well as the UK, you can imagine how exciting this news is!
